Battle of the Books (BOB)

Come to the fun of literature, excellent stories, reading with friends, and winning the big BATTLE!!!

The Battle of the Books, fondly known as BOB, is designed as an independent reading program for middle school students as it incorporates healthy competition. The competition is structured to be fun; it challenges students to be knowledgeable about literature and promotes teamwork! The goal is to recognize students who enjoy reading and to encourage other students to experience reading in a new manner.

The program invites students at various reading levels and grade levels to participate. The independent reading requirements afford students who read at a slower pace the same opportunities as other participants. The program is not designed to prohibit students because of marginal reading grades. Therefore, any limitations are self-imposed. BOB promotes enthusiasm, self-discipline, and sportsmanship.

Students compete against other area Catholic schools. The winning team goes to the finals in Conway to compete against other teams across the state.
The Endowment Fund covers the cost of all school field trips and extracurricular activities. Battle of the books (BOB) is just one activity the students participated in.

In 2016, the Saint Boniface team placed third in the city tournament which qualified them to go to the state competition. The team placed fifth over all in state.
T-Shirts were provided for everyone on the BOB Team.
