Early Childhood Program (6 weeks-3 years old)
We know that your baby or toddler is the most precious blessing that you will ever have! We want you to know that we do not take that responsibility lightly.
Our traditional Benedictine values of prayer, work, and service are at the heart of everything that we do at St. Boniface. Older students will quickly become big brothers and sisters to your child. Activities such as art projects and story time allow our older students to practice learned skills while installing a love for reading and beauty in our younger students. We have found that the bridging of activities among the different classes has increased the family atmosphere in our building, while increasing learning opportunities for students of all age levels. This tradition will be continued with our youngest learners.
We will be using the DAP (Developmentally-Appropriate Practices) Curriculum, as recommended by NAEYC (National Association of Educators of Young Children). This curriculum will allow our teachers to adapt learning to our very youngest students. In addition to regular indoor and outdoor play, students will be read to and sung to daily. Gross motor and fine motor skills will be developed through structured play. Other activities will be left open-ended in order to encourage student creativity. Our goal is to help each child progress in a loving, nurturing environment.
We have been hard at work this summer preparing the classroom facilities.
Children enrolled in the Early Childhood Center (infant or toddler classrooms) are not required to wear uniforms. We do encourage you to dress your child in clothing that is suitable for active and/or outside play. We will be experimenting with art mediums and textures, so we suggest that you do not send your child to school in their best clothing. Also, children who are able to walk should wear shoes.
We are very excited about our new program! We hope that you will stop by to visit our classrooms to see our students and teachers in action--living, learning, and growing with Christ!
